Teen Leadership Summit

Overview: The 10th Annual Teen Leadership Conference for the City of Fontana’s Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council was focused on empowering the youth. The goal was to create a cohesive brand system that resonated with the youth and had a consistent brand identity.

Problem Statement:

  • The existing brand felt outdated and inconsistent.

  • Previous design was nearly synonymous with another outside entity.

  • (Fresh Prince of Bel Air) Colors used hot pink and neon green with graffiti-style font.

Research & Insights:

  • Target demographic, Teens respond well to visual language rooted in gaming and digital culture.

  • Project became inspired by Minecraft.

  • Identified a trend with logotypes and understanding of playful aesthetic towards the youth.

Design Process:

  • Moodboard Creation: Playful aesthetic, energetic and youthful.

  • Logo Redesign: Curves, asymmetrical shapes to showcase movement.

  • Color Palette: Warm tones like orange and brown to nearly cool like green.

  • Typography: Pairing a bubble-styled letter shape with a condensed sans-serif to bring contrast.
